The Residuals Treatment Facility (RTF) project is a major component of the overall Wastewater Treatment Project for the Capital Regional District in Victoria, B.C., which includes the core area municipalities of Victoria, Esquimalt, Saanich, Oak Bay, View Royal, Langford and Colwood, and the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. The state-of-the-art facility will process 14,000 dry tones of residual solids from the McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant and produce thermally dried Class A biosolids using anaerobic digestion processes. The resulting biosolids could ultimately be used as an alternate fuel source
